Qualied to MIL-DTL-24308, Amphenol’s D-Sub connectors are sub-miniature rack & panel type connectors with polar-
ized shells. They use pin & socket machined contacts that provide high reliability & density for the connectors. With
its versatile design, these high-performance connectors are used in a variety of applications where weight & size are
critical factors.
Available in multiple QPLs – M24308/1, /2, /3, /4, /5, /6, /7, /8, /23 & /24 - Amphenol’s D-Sub connectors come in 5
standard shell sizes (9, 15, 25, 37, & 50) and have pin counts ranging from 9 to 104. There are various termination op-
tions – solder, crimp and PC Tail in both magnetic and non-magnetic options.
Typical Applications:
Military

STANDARD D-SUB TOOLING
Miniature step adjustable tool (M22520/2-01)
Part No. M2000-CRT
This miniature 8 step adjustable hand crimping tool produces
an 8 indent crimp conguration and will crimp wire sizes 18
AWG (1.0mm2) through 32 AWG (0.3mm2) To crimp wire size
18 AWG (1.0mm2), order contact positioner K13-1. To crimp
wire size AWG (0.5mm2 ) through 30 AWG (0.05mm2) order
contact positioner K-13-1. Each positioner is equipped with
a data plate which gives the correct crimp-depth setting for
each wire size and must be used with M22520/2-01 tool frame
for best results when crimping M2000 (M24308) Series con-
tacts.
M81969/39-01
(M2000-107689)
One end of this tool is used to insert contacts into M2000
(M24308) Series connectors. The other end is used to extract
contacts. This is accomplished by sliding the extraction tip
down the wire into the connector until it bottoms against
the contacts. A slight rotation while pushing will release the
contacts, which are then extracted by simultaneously pulling
on the wire.

PANEL CUTOUT
Description:
D-Sub connectors are designed for rack and panel applications. Before making the panel cutout, determine the
number of pins in the connector and whether the connector has a oating bushing, then using the clearance
dimensions provided in gure below, determine whether you are going to front or back mount the connector. Now
make a cutout in the panel using the dimension shown in the dimension table.
Panel cutout conguration with these dimensions provides clearance for mounting connectors with cable clamp
assemblies.
When front mounting MIL-DTL-24308 connector using the tab method of securing shell halves, it is recommended
to use a 0.81mm thick washer (not supplied) to prevent deformation of the connector ange.
The ‘L’ dimension is necessary for full mating of connector halves (ange). This dimension must be taken into con-
sideration when determining the method of mounting, panel thickness etc.
