Alcatel Multimode Fiber 100/140 IEC Ref.A1b Process The fibers are manufactured using the Alcatel APVD process. This is a deposition of Silicium dioxide and germanium dioxide inside a silica tube. The Alcatel APVD Process has been specifically developed for a mass production of fibers with a high level of reproducibility. The fiber operates at both wavelength regions 850nm and 1300 nm. They are produced and controlled according to the international standards : Largecore Multimode graded index 100/140 fibers are used in local area networks for video and data transmission for short distance links e.g. on board aircraft cables, video surveillance. It runs the different standards of the market : FDDI, Token-Ring, Ethernet, ATM, .... IEC pub 793/2 for the product. IEC pub 793/1 for the measurement methods.
