Capacitance Value: Expressed in Microfarads. The first two digits are
significant figures, and the third digit indicates the number of zeros
for capacitance of 100F or more. R indicates the decimal point for
capacitance less than 100F (e.g. R27 = .27F; 2R7 = 2.7F;
27R = 27F; 271= 270F; 272 = 2,700F; 273 = 27,000F).

Characteristics
Capacitance change at 120Hz: Capacitance at 25C shall not be less than 70% of the
specified value at
20C.
Insulation Resistance The insulation resistance of the sleeve will measure no less than 100 megohms with a 500VDC
potential between the mounting clamp and the sleeve. The mounting clamp shall be secured
around the sleeve of the capacitor body, and the terminals shall be shorted together.
Dielectric Strength The insulating sleeve will withstand a voltage of 2,000VAC without electrical breakdown when
the voltage is applied between the mounting clamp and the sleeve. The mounting clamp shall be
secured around the sleeve of the capacitor body, and the terminals shall be shorted together.

The following specifications shall be satisfied when the capacitors are restored to
20C after
exposing them for 1,000 hours at
105C without voltage applied. The rated voltage shall be
applied to the capacitors for a minimum of 30 minutes, at least 24 hours and not more than
48 hours before the measurements.

Tan (DF) : ≤200% of initial specified value
Leakage current : ≤initial specified value

Load Life The following specifications shall be satisfied when the capacitors are restored to

after subjecting them to the DC rated voltage for 5,000 hours at
105C with the rated ripple

voltage of the capacitors.
