The touch screen auto-detect / auto-configure features of this controller enables it to "on the fly" configure itself for any of the industries standard 4, 5, or 8 wire resistive touch screen pin-outs. RS-232 or USB communications will also be autodetected and configured dynamically. Hampshire own proprietary Dynamic Sample Rate Algorithm, will insure that the controller is functioning at the optimum performance for the specific touch application relative to the touch screen's construction and electrical characteristics. This TSHARC controller IC includes an on-board a 12 bit A-D converter which supports 12-bit (4,096 x 4,096) resolution. Hampshire's Devil Ray controller is the reference design controller board using the A2 IC. This board may be used for evaluation of the A2 controller chip or as a standard stock solution for applications that require a complete board solution. The Devil Ray controller board supports all seven 4, 5, and 8 wire resistive touch screen pin-outs and includes all Hampshire device drivers and technical support. All Hampshire products and associated device drivers are developed and supported in house by Hampshire engineers. Custom firmware and drivers are available upon request.
