Refer to the customer drawing. Figure 7 1. INTRODUCTION This instruction sheet covers installation procedures for the AMP* Low Profile, Economy, and Dual Beam Shunt Connectors listed in Figure 1. These connectors are used for mating, commoning, or shorting two 0.64mm [.025-in.] square posts on 2.54mm [.100in.] or 5.08-mm [.200-in.] contact centerline spacing. All dimensions are in millimeters {with inches in Ney brackets]. Reasons for reissue are provided in Section 5, REVISION SUMMARY. 2. DESCRIPTION The Low Profile and Economy shunt connectors consists of a glassfilled polyester housing preloaded with two receptacle contacts of beryllium copper material and the Dual Beam connector receptacle contacts are of phosphor bronze. 3. INSTALLING SHUNTS (Figure 2) Determine which posts are to be commoned. Fingers or neeclenose pliers may be used. Align connector over posts and push connector straight down onto posts until bottomed. Dual Beam connectors can be inserted from either side, though it is recommended to insert the lead-in side first. Care should be taken when using pliers thal NOTE . : : excessive force is not applied to sides of connector, which could cause shunt housing or contact damage. 4, REMOVING SHUNTS Fingers or needlenose pliers may be used to pull straight up on connector.
