that converts digital video signals to high-quality analog
TV signals.
The device is compliant with most worldwide TV standards
- it encodes all interlaced standards together with
non-interlaced standards such as PAL and NTSC signals.

Incorporating a proven TV digital encoder (DENC) and
digital-to-analog signal converter, the STw8009/19 enable
the most efficient partitioning for TV-out functionality.
The digital processor provides digital video data (YCbCr 422),
sized in PAL or NTSC, on a common 8-bit interface with
a 27 MHz video clock. PORn, suspend and 2-wire I2C
compatible signals control the operating modes and
the STw8009/19 registers.
The 35 mA high-performance 10-bit DACs allow straight drive
of 75 W loads, enabling the device to directly drive the video
cable and composite or S-Video to your TV or VCR.
The STw8009/19 features low power consumption in all modes
(off, sleep, standby and active), and is tailored for portable
applications and optimizing battery lifetime.
Thanks to the high-integration of the mobile video DENC,
the whole composite TV-out application will not exceed
16.5 mm2 on your PCB.
