Highlights
Radically Easy to Install. The MultiModemUSB uses the
Universal Serial Bus (USB) for the easiest modem
installation available. Just plug it into a laptop or desktop
USB port. Windows 98/Me/2000/XP does all the work
automatically to detect and configure the modem. Plus,
with USB, users never have to restart or change
system settings when hot-swapping this modem with
other USB devices.
Advanced Features. The MultiModemUSB provides
powerful features that make it perfect for mainstream
PC users. It supports remote configuration, Caller ID
reporting (U.S. only), and Class 1 and Class 2 fax. In
addition, the 12M bps serial USB connection eliminates
COM port bottlenecks allowing it to handle greater
throughput — with data compression — than a
conventional modem.
Improve Gaming and Multimedia Performance.
Demanding applications require most of a PC’s
processing power, while typical 56K serial port modems
also want a share. This can cause scoring problems,
frame degradation, and disconnects. Using the faster
and more efficient 12M bps USB port the
MultiModemUSB delivers more data without
overrunning the PC, far outpacing the typical 16550
serial port.
Integrated Data Communications and Fax Software.
The bundled software for these modems has an easy to
use graphical interface for use under Windows 98/Me/
2000/XP.
