4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1. Qual ification Testing
A. Sample Selection
Connector housings and contacts shall be pr epared in accordance with applicable Instruction
Sheets and shall be selected at random from current production. Test groups 1, 2, 3 and 5 shall
each consi st of 5 mat ed connector pairs w ith no grounding indent s and shall be mounted to a
printed circuit board. Test group 5 shall be manufact ured using 30 µin gold fi nish. Two wires shall
be used i n each crimp. Test group 4 shall consist of 5 unmated connect ors using only a single wire
of t he appropriate w ire gage. Connect ors shall be mounted t o a printed circuit board. Test group 6
and 7 shal l each consist of 5 unmated connectors. No mounting required. Test group 8 shall
consi st of 5 mat ed connector pairs for positions 9 and 37. Connectors shall have grounding
i ndents. No mounting is requi red.
B. Test Sequence
Qual ification inspection shall be verified by testing samples as specified in Figur e 2.
4.2. Requal ification Testing
If changes significantly affecting form, f it or function are made to the pr oduct or manufacturing process,
product assurance shall coordinate requalif ication testing, consisting of all or part of original testing
sequence as deter mined by development/product, quality and reliability engineering.
4.3. Acceptance
Acceptance is based on verifi cation that product meets the requirements of Figure 1. Failures attributed
to equipment, test setup or operator deficiencies shall not disqualif y the product. When product failur e
occurs, corrective action shall be taken and samples resubmitted for qualification. T esting to confirm
corr ective action is required before resubmittal.
4.4. Certification
This product has been r ecognized under the Component Recognition Program of Underw riter's Inc.,
El ectrical File Number E-28476 and it has been Certifi ed by the Canadian Standards Association
Number LR-16455.
