1. INTRODUCTION
Strain Relief 1375618--1, shown in Figure 1, is
designed to provide a protection from stress on the
wires of AMP--DUAC 6--position plug connector or
receptacle connector.
Read these instructions carefully before assembling
the strain relief to the plug or receptacle.
Dimensions in this instruction sheet are in metric
units [with U.S. customary units in brackets].
Figures are not drawn to scale.
Reasons for reissue of this instruction sheet are
provided in Section 5, REVISION SUMMARY.
2. DESCRIPTION
This one--piece strain relief is made from UL94V--2
natural nylon.
3. ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
1. Terminate the contacts according to the
instructions provided with the applicable
termination tooling.
2. Align the connector with the connector opening
of the strain relief as shown in Figure 2.

3. Insert the connector into the strain relief until the
flange of the connector bottoms with the connector
opening of the strain relief (the flange of the
connector will prevent the connector from being
over--inserted). The connector locking latch
opening of the strain relief will accept the locking
latch of the connector. See Figure 3.

4. While holding the center of the strain relief
where the connector has been inserted, push the
ends of the strain relief toward the wire until they
meet at the wire. See Figure 3.
5. When the ends have been fully rotated to the
wire, the strain relief latches will make an audible
and tactile “click that ensures full rotation of the
ends to the wire. See Figure 4.

6. To secure the strain relief to the wire, apply
Cable Tie 1--603227--9 (152.4 mm [6.0 in.] long) or
equivalent to the closed ends of the strain relief.
The cable tie may be applied using Cable Tie
Installation Tool 734587--1 according to Instruction
Sheet 408--8816.

4. REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR
Damaged strain relief or connector (this includes
damage to contacts) must be replaced. To open the
strain relief, cut the cable tie, pull open the strain relief
by using the sides, and remove the connector.
Replace the damaged product, then re--assemble the
strain relief onto the connector according to Section 3.
