The SMT15F-12 has an input range of 7.0-13.2 Vdc and offers an output voltage range from 0.8-3.6Vdc with a 15 A load, which allows for maximum design flexibility and a pathway for future upgrades. The SMT15F-12 is designed for applications that include distributed power, workstations, optical network and wireless applications. Implemented using state of the art surface-mount technology and automated manufacturing techniques, the SMT15F-12 offers compact size and efficiencies of up to 91 % at 3.3Vout. In the SMT15F-12W1V6J the range is from 0.8 Vdc to 1.65 Vdc. In the SMT15F12W3V6J the coverage is from 1.66 Vdc to 3.6 Vdc. The output voltage in both cases can be set by an external resistor. Typical values of resistence from the E-96 range are shown in Table 1. Required capacitance is a min. of 300 F to meet performance parameters. This can be made up of any combination of 22 F or 44 F MLCC. For best performance they need to be very close to the SMT15 and connected by wide traces, ideally by ground planes. The use of low ESR and low ESL components is important. Frequency is a function of Vin and Vout. It varies between 500 kHz and 1 MHz. An external resistor must be placed from this pin to the Gnd pin. O W can be used to set the current limit to 18 A. The maximum current limit is 18 A and if the current limit needs to be reduced the following formula can be used to select the correct programming resistor for current limit: Power Good: This pin indicates the status of the output voltage. Power Good is driven low if output voltage deviates outside of specified limits. Remote ON/OFF: Pulling the pin TTL low or shorting to ground wil disable the output. +Vin: The positive input voltage power node to the module, which is referenced to common GND. Ground: This is the common ground connection for the Vin and Vout power connections.
