DESCRIPTION
A metal glazed film is deposited on a high grade ceramic body. After a helical groove is cut in the resistive layer, connecting
wires of electrolytic copper plated with 100 % pure tin are welded to the termination caps.
The resistors are coated with a light violet lacquer which provides electrical, mechanical and climatic protection. The
encapsulation is resistant to all cleaning solvents in accordance with “MIL-STD 202 E method 215” and “IEC 60068-2-45.”
Note
1. Ohmic values (other than resistance range) are available on request.
2. Limiting element voltage is

ORDERING INFORMATION
Numeric Ordering Code (12NC)
The resistors have a 12-digit ordering code starting with
2322 247.
The subsequent first di gi t fo r 1 % tole ranc e products (E24
and E96 series) or 2 digits for 5 % (E24 series) indicate the
resistor type and packaging.
The remaining digits indicate the resistance value. The first
three digits for 1 % or 2 digits for 5 % tolerance products
indicate the resistance value. The last digit indicates the
resistance in decade.
Ordering Example
The ordering code of an SVR37 resistor value 2.7M with
toleranc e of ± 1 % and supplied on a bando lier of 100 0 units
in ammopack is 2322 247 82705.

MARKING
The nominal resistance and tolerance are marked on the resistor using four or five color bands in accordance with “IEC publication
60062“ color codes for fixed resistors.
Yellow and grey colors are used ins tead o f gol d and sil ver b ecaus e me tal p article s in lac quer c ould affec t high vol tage propert ies.
FUNCTIONAL PERFORMANCE
PRODUCT CHARACTERIZATION
Standard va lues of nomin al resista nce are taken from the E24/E96 series fo r resistors w ith tolerance of ± 1 %, ± 5 %. The va lues
of the E24/E96 series are in accordance with “IEC publication 60063”
Note
1. The maximum voltage that may be continuously applied to the resistor element is in accordance with “IEC publication 60115-1”. The max imum
permissible hot spot temperature is 155 °C

TESTS AND REQUIREMENTS
Essentially all tests are carried out in accordance with the
sched ule of “IEC pub lication 60115-1, c ategory LCT/ UCT/56
(rated temperature range: Lower Category Temperature,
Upper category Temperature, damp heat, long term, 56
days). T he testi ng also cover s the requ iremen ts spe cified by
EIA and EIAJ.
The tests are carried out in accordance with IEC publication
60068-2. “Recommended basic climatic and mechanical
robustness testing procedure for electronic components”
and und er standard atmospheric conditions a ccording to IEC
60068-1, subcl aus e 5.3.
In the Test Procedures and Requirements table the tests and
requirements are listed with reference to the relevant
clauses of IEC publications 60115-1 and 60 068-2; a short
description of the test procedure is also given. In some
instances deviations from the IEC recommendations were
necessary for our meth od of s pecifying.
All soldering tests are performed with mildly activated flux.
