2.2 Lieferumfang
Folgende Teile gehören zum Lieferumfang des CP 5621:

2.3 Produktbeschreibung
Kommunikationsprozessor CP 5621
Der Kommunikationsprozessor CP 5621 hat folgende Produktmerkmale:
● Die CP 5621-Baugruppe ist mit einer PROFIBUS-Schnittstelle bis 12 Mbit/s ausgestattet.
Sie ist für den Betrieb in PGs und PCs mit PCI-Express-Busschnittstelle vorgesehen.
● Mit dem Kommunikationsprozessor CP 5621 können bis zu 32 Geräte (PC, PG, SIMATIC
S7 oder ET 200) zu einem Netzsegment gekoppelt werden. Durch Kopplung mehrerer
Segmente mit Repeatern sind maximal 127 Teilnehmer anschließbar.
● Die zusätzlichen Schnittstellensignale für die PLC Direktkopplung (PLC – Programmable
Logic Control) werden bis 187,5 kbit/s unterstützt.

MPI/DP-Netz
Die physikalische Kopplung der MPI/DP-Schnittstelle an das MPI/DP-Netz erfolgt über ein
potentialgetrenntes RS485-Interface, das Bestandteil der Baugruppe ist. Im MPI/DP-Netz
sind je nach Netzkonfiguration Datenübertragungsraten von 9,6 kbit/s bis maximal 12 Mbit/s
möglich.
Hinweis
Informationen zum Aufbau eines MPI-Netzes finden Sie im Handbuch "Aufbauen einer S7-
300", Best. Nr. 6ES7030 0AA01-8AA0.
Statusleuchtdiode
Auf der Frontplatte des CP 5621 befindet sich die Statusleuchtdiode. Die folgende Tabelle
beschreibt die Betriebszustände:

3.1 Installation des Treibers
Voraussetzung
Folgende Voraussetzungen müssen erfüllt sein:
● Der Plug-and-Play-Manager ist im BIOS aktiviert.
Installation des CP 5621-Treibers
Der Treiber wird automatisch installiert, wenn Sie die CD "SIMATIC NET, PC Software" oder
das Programm STEP 7 installieren.
Der CP 5621 wurde ab der CD "SIMATIC NET, PC Software, Edition 2006" getestet und
freigegeben.
Die für den CP 5621 freigegebene STEP 7-Version entnehmen Sie der Liesmich-Datei von
STEP 7.
3.2 Deinstallation des Treibers
Deinstallation des CP 5621-Treibers
Der Treiber wird automatisch deinstalliert, wenn Sie die CD "SIMATIC NET, PC Software"
oder STEP 7 deinstallieren.

Hinweis
Anzahl möglicher CP 5621 in einem Rechner
Es sind maximal zwei CP 5621 in einem PG/PC zulässig.
Vorgehensweise
Gehen Sie beim Einbau und Anschluss des CP 5621 wie folgt vor:
ACHTUNG
Greifen Sie beim Hantieren mit der Baugruppe nicht auf die Anschlüsse bzw. auf die
elektronischen Bauelemente.
Bitte beachten Sie die Maßnahmen gegen elektrostatische Aufladung (EGB -
Elektrostatisch gefährdete Bauelemente)
1. Schalten Sie Ihren Rechner aus und ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose.
2. Öffnen Sie das Rechnergehäuse wie im Handbuch Ihres PG/PC beschrieben.
3. Stecken Sie den CP 5621 in einen PCI Express Steckplatz.
Achten Sie darauf, dass der CP 5621 fest und gleichmäßig in der Aufnahmebuchse des
Steckplatzes steckt.
4. Schließen Sie das Rechnergehäuse, wie im Handbuch Ihres PG/PC beschrieben.
5. Stecken Sie den Netzstecker wieder in die Steckdose, und schalten Sie Ihren Rechner
ein.
6. Der Plug-and-Play-Mechanismus von Windows sucht nach dem Einbau des
Kommunikationsprozessors CP 5621 nach einem Treiber.

Vor der Inbetriebnahme
Beachten Sie vor der Inbetriebnahme folgenden Hinweis:
VORSICHT
Vor der Inbetriebnahme sind die Hinweise in der entsprechenden aktuellen Dokumentation
zu beachten. Die Bestelldaten hierfür entnehmen Sie bitte den Katalogen, oder wenden Sie
sich an Ihre örtliche Siemens-Geschäftsstelle.
Projektierung
Der CP 5621 wird in STEP 7 oder NCM PC als CP 5611 projektiert.
Verhalten
Der CP 5621 gibt sich aus Kompatibilitätsgründen im PC als CP 5611 aus.
Dies ist kein Fehler, sondern beabsichtigt.

Der CP 5621 kann als Ersatz für den CP 5611 bzw. CP 5611 A2 eingesetzt werden. Dazu
sind weder Software-Updates noch Änderung der Projektierung notwendig.
Gehen Sie wie folgt beschrieben vor:
1. Schalten Sie den PC aus.
2. Bauen Sie den CP 5611/CP 5611 A2 aus.
3. Bauen Sie den CP 5621 in einem PCI-Express Steckplatz ein.
4. Starten Sie den PC erneut.
5. Konfigurieren Sie den CP 5621 wie den vorherigen CP 5611/CP 5611 A2.
Hinweis
Wenn der Hardware-Assistent von Windows erscheint, dann bestätigen Sie die
vorgeschlagenen Schritte (außer die Suche nach neuen Treibern im Internet).
Hinweis
Die für den CP 5611 bzw. CP 5611 A2 verwendete Projektierung muss neu geladen
werden.

Belegung der PROFIBUS-Schnittstelle
Die SUB D-Buchsenleiste ist wie folgt belegt:

1. Make sure that the package is complete.
2. Check all the parts for transport damage.

2.2 Components of the product
The following components are supplied with the CP 5621:

2.3 Description of the product
CP 5621 communications processor
The CP 5621 communications processor has the following features:
● The CP 5621 module is equipped with a PROFIBUS interface up to 12 Mbps. It is
intended for operation in PGs and PCs with a PCI Express bus interface.
● With the CP 5621 communications processor, you can connect up to 32 devices (PC,
PG, SIMATIC S7 or ET 200) to a network segment. By linking several segments with
repeaters, a maximum of 127 nodes can be connected.
● For the additional interface signals for the direct link to the PLC (programmable logic
controller), up to 187.5 Kbps are supported.

MPI/DP network
The physical link of the MPI/DP interface to the MPI/DP network is via a floating RS-485
interface that is part of the module. Depending on the network configuration, data
transmission rates of 9.6 Kbps to a maximum of 12 Mbps are possible in the MPI/DP
network.
Note
For information on setting up an MPI network, refer to the manual "S7-300 Installation", order
no. 6ES7030-0AA01-8BA0.
Status LED
The status LED is located on the front panel of the CP 5621. The following table describes
the operating states:

3.1 Installing the driver
Requirements
The following requirements must be met:
● The plug-and-play manager is enabled in the BIOS.
Installing the CP 5621 driver
The driver is installed automatically when you install the "SIMATIC NET PC Software" CD or
the STEP 7 program.
The CP 5621 has been tested and released as of the "SIMATIC NET, PC Software, Edition
2006" CD.
For the STEP 7 version released for the CP 5621, refer to the STEP 7 readme file.
3.2 Uninstalling the driver
Uninstalling the CP 5621 driver
The driver is uninstalled automatically when you uninstall the "SIMATIC NET PC Software"
CD or the STEP 7 program.

When you uninstall STEP 7, keep to the following instructions in German or English:

Note
Maximum number of CP 5621 modules in one computer
A maximum of two CP 5621 modules can be installed in one PG/PC.
Procedure
To install and connect up the CP 5621 follow the steps outlined below:
NOTICE
When handling the module, make sure that you do not touch the connectors or the
electronic components.
When installing the module make sure that you avoid electrostatic discharge (ESD)
1. Turn off your computer and pull out the power cable connector from the socket.
2. Open the computer housing as described in the manual accompanying your PG/PC.
3. Insert the CP 5621 in a PCI Express slot.
Make sure that the CP 5621 sits firmly and uniformly in the slot.
4. Close the computer housing as described in the manual accompanying your PG/PC.
5. Plug the power supply connector into the socket again and turn on your computer.
6. After you have installed the CP 5621 communications processor, the Windows plug-and-
play mechanism searches for a driver.

Prior to commissioning
Before putting the product into operation, note the following warning:
CAUTION
Prior to startup read the relevant current documentation. For ordering data of the
documentation please refer to the catalogs or contact your local Siemens office.
Configuration
The CP 5621 is configured in STEP 7 or NCM PC as a CP 5611.
Reaction
For reasons of compatibility, the CP 5621 is displayed as a CP 5611 on the PC.
This is intentional and not an error.

The CP 5621 can be used as a replacement for the CP 5611 or CP 5611 A2. This requires
neither software updates nor changes to the configuration.
Follow the steps outlined below:
1. Turn off the PC.
2. Remove the CP 5611/CP 5611 A2.
3. Install the CP 5621 in a PCI Express slot.
4. Restart the PC.
5. Configure the CP 5621 just as the previous CP 5611/CP 5611 A2.
Note
When the Windows hardware wizard appears, confirm the proposed steps (except for
searching for new hardware drivers on the Internet).
Note
The configuration used for the CP 5611 or CP 5611 A2 needs to be reloaded.

Note
The CP 5621 has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class B digital device,
pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable
protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment
generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in
accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.

Assignment of the PROFIBUS interface
The pinning of the D-sub socket is as follows:
