These SLEDs use a proprietary microwelded subassembly to provide
optoelectronic devices in active mount receptacles (SC, ST, FC, SMA, DIN,
etc.) or with a pigtail. This technique can be used with a variety of TO-
package types including those with flat window or lensed caps. Each TO-
packaged device is aligned, then welded within a universal alignment sleeve.
This assembly is then placed into an active-mount receptacle or fiber mounted.
Devices can be pigtailed with angle or radial polished singlemode fiber pigtails
for reduced back reflection. These are particularly suited for InGaAs PIN
photodiodes utilized in CA TV applications.
