Applications
3M 1182 is typica lly use d to bond two surfaces
together, both electrically and physically. An
exa mple would be adheri ng a conductive ga sket
to a conduc ti ve surface as part of the EMI
shie l di ng sol ution for an electroni c e nclosure.
Conductivity
Sinc e 3M 1182 double- si ded copper tape would
typically be used as an electrical path between
two surfaces, its most important feature is its
conduc tivi ty. Highly conduc ti ve par ti c le s i n the
acrylic adhesive provide a m ul titude of electri ca l
paths between the ap plica ti on substrate and the
surface of the copper foil on each side. The
resi stance of the conductive path through the
adhesive (measured over a 1-in2 area) typically
measures only a few milliohm s.
