The rectifiers comply with the JEDEC DO-15 outline. 2, The millimetre dimensions are derived from the inch dimensions. Weight 05 gramme. INSTALLATION NOTES To obtain maximum power from these rectifiers : (a) their axial wire leads should be short. (b) solder tags used should be as large as possible. Care should be taken to ensure adjacent devices do not cause heating of a rectifier either by radiation or by conduction along its leads. Where a rectifier is mounted symmetrically between two solder tags of the size normally used for this type of component, and is connected by 7/0076 cable, an estimate of tag temperature can be made by using a tag thermal resistance of about 100 deg. C/W and assuming half the device dissipation is absorbed by each tag. This estimate should be checked by a heat run since the tag thermal resistance will depend upon its design and the diameter of the connecting cable. If the rectifier mounting is not symmetrical, the temperature measurement should be made on the hottest tag. The recommended method of measuring temperature is with a chromel-constantan thermocouple soldered to the point of measurement. The rectifier cathode is indicated by a polarity band. The minimum axial length within which these rectifiers may be placed with their leads bent at right angles is 0-5 in (12:7 mm). When soldering a thermal shunt should be used to protect the rectifier. The rectifiers may be dip-soldered at a temperature of 240C for a maximum of 10 seconds up to a point 0-2 in (5 mm) from their bodies. 2610 -01 J Lucas Electrical Limited - Electronics and Systems Division Mere Green Road + Sutton Coldfield - West Midlands B75 5BN x Publication No. 3800/42 24M/480/BC Printed In England / / J 61) D MM 5407013 0000071 6 a ' mE Timely
