Static Sensor
The 3M 718 Static Sensor is an accurate, hand-held, lightweight unit designed to measure static
voltages on objects and surfaces. The 718 features a digital (LCD) display and two range settings:
LOW to measure up to 1990 volts and HIGH to measure up to 19,900 volts. The sensor comes
with one standard 9 volt transistor battery and has a battery test circuit, which displays the battery
voltage level on the LCD readout when activated. For remote monitoring or permanent recording,
the 718 provides two pin-type output jacks.

40 Anti-Static Utility Tape represents a breakthrough in PSA tape technology. This new
tape, which generates less than 50 volts on unwind and removal from stainless steel, helps prevent
ESD damage to sensitive electronic components in manufacturing environments. Use this tape a third
hand to hold work orders, notes or documentation in place, or to hold down obstructions. This tape can
also be use as a sealing tape to secure static shielding bags, boxes contacting electronic components,
DIP tubes or to hold IC rails.

paced, using advanced CD-ROM technology that combines
videos, audio, animation, and graphics for a practical and
enjoyable learning experience. The three learning modules
address the key aspects of ESD awareness and control Ñ
basic static electricity concepts, damage to static-sensitive
devices, static control measures. The complete 3M 7308 ESD
training package includes the CD, installation instructions and

Static Control (ÒESDÓ) Tile and Epoxy Flooring
3M static-dissipative and conductive tile and epoxy floorings are designed to minimize static electricity problems. These
products also help reduce maintenance cost because they can be cleaned and shined without the use of any wax. The 3M
8410 and 8430 Series tiles are made with only virgin vinyl. There is no regrind and a minimal amount of filler, resulting in
brighter, more flexible tile. Each tile is micro-edged to be perfectly square for easy installation with 3M conductive
adhesive. The dissipative and conductive tiles are available in twelve colors. The 3M 8900 ESD Epoxy Flooring is another
tough and durable static-protective flooring material. This three-layer self-leveling epoxy system provides the same level
of static protection as ESD tile, but its harder surface may make it the more appropriate choice in situations in which the
floor will be subjected to very heavy foot traffic or forklift traffic. It is offered in six standard colors and in standard
thicknesses from 17 mils. to 125 mils. (0.017" to 0.125").

Static dissipative 3M rigid worksurfaces have the high abrasion resistance of a laminate, yet are as easy to install as table
mats. The nonglare surface also resists staining, scorching and common solvents. All edges and corners are rounded,
and the 8300 Series comes ready to use with two factory-installed snap fasteners, and one 3048 grounding system for
wrist strap/table mat.
