Maintenance
It i s recommended that each operator of the tool be m ade aware of, and

1. Remove dust, m oi st ure, and other contam i nant s wi t h a clean brush, or soft, lint free cloth.
2. Do not use any abrasive materi al s t hat could dam age the tool.
3. Make certai n all pi ns; pi vot poi nt s and bearing surf aces are prot ected wi th
a thin coat of hi gh qual i t y machine oi l . Do not oil excessively. The tool
was engineered for durability but like any other equipment it needs
cleaning and lubricat i on for a maximum service li f e of trouble f ree
crimping. Li ght oi l (such as 30 weight aut om otive oil) used at t he oi l
points, every 5,000 crimps or 3 months, will significantly enhance the tool
life.
4. Wipe excess oil from hand tool, part i cularl y f rom crimpi ng area. Oil
transferred from the crimpi ng area onto certain t erm i nat i ons may af fect
the elect ri cal characteri sti cs of an appl i cat i on.
5. When tool is not i n use, keep t he handles closed to prevent obj ect s from
becoming lodged in the crimping dies, and st ore t he tool in a clean, dry area.
