processors. Each column in the BIOS and thermal/power tables represents a specific Ordering Part
Number (OPN). Section 1.1 provides an example of the OPN structure for this processor family.
Availability of processors corresponding to certain OPNs is limited.
Refer to the AMD Opteron™ Product Data Sheet, order #23932 for all other electrical specifications
for the processor. Refer to the BIOS and Kernel Developers Guide for AMD Athlon™ 64 and

2. Tcase max is programmed dur ing devic e manufacturing with part -specif ic values for Rev E and la t er processors
with 'Variable' indicated by the Case Temperature OPN character, and can be any valid Tcase max value in the
r ange specifie d for t he corresponding OPN.
3. Tcont rol max (maximum cont rol temperature) is a non physical temper at ure on an arbitrary scale t hat can be used
for system thermal management policies. Tcontrol max represents the value at which the processor has reached
Tcase max when measuring t he t hermal diode with a dual s our cing c urrent temper at ure sensor. Refer t o the

4. The VID_VDD voltage is the VID[4:0] reque sted VDD supply level. Ref er to t he appropria t e funct iona l data

5. Thermal D esign Power ( T DP) is measured under the conditions of Tcase Max and VDD=VI D_VD D, and inc lude
all power dissipa ted on-die from VDD, VDDIO, VLDT, VTT, and VDDA. Contact your Field Application

6. Thermal D esign Power ( T DP) and ID D max for Rev E and later processors with 'Var ia ble' indicat ed by t he
